Recently, the highly anticipated 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject were released. Our university's sociology discipline was shortlisted alongside Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Renmin University of China, ranking in the 201–250 range globally. Among Chinese mainland universities on the list, our ranking improved by one place compared to last year, securing 10th place. This marks the third consecutive year that our university has been listed since 2024, demonstrating the continuous progress of our sociology discipline in the field of sociological research nationwide.
The QS World University Rankings is a globally recognized academic evaluation system. It conducts in-depth and meticulous assessments of discipline development across universities worldwide, comprehensively considering multiple indicators including academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, the H-index, and the international research network. Over the past year, our school has actively responded to the needs of disciplinary transformation and development, deeply exploring new opportunities for social development in the context of Chinese-style modernization. We have made sustained efforts in specific areas such as AI-driven urban-rural integration and future community governance, data-driven high-quality population development and spatial governance, and the evolution of social foundations and risk prevention in the data-intelligence era, striving to conduct in-depth research around major national strategic issues and continuously contributing Chinese wisdom to the innovative development of China's sociology discipline.
